Hexam is an educational puzzle game for children aged 6 to 8, focused on reinforcing Catalan, Math, Science and Music concepts through short, accessible and highly replayable challenges. I designed the core mechanics, level structure, UX and accessibility systems to ensure an intuitive and engaging experience.
I defined and prototyped the game’s five main mechanics—matching, ordering, classifying, selecting and choosing—each designed to provide strong visual feedback and support early cognitive development.
I developed a progressive difficulty curve built around an interactive tutorial and a sequence of easy, medium and hard levels, ensuring children learn gradually without frustration.
For level design, I implemented a modular system powered by over 250 CSV-based templates, keeping the game lightweight while enabling extensive content scalability and replayability.
I also designed several accessibility features, including customizable typography (simple, cursive and dyslexia-friendly), uppercase/lowercase modes, and validated color contrast, ensuring the game adapts to diverse user needs.
